It is our goal as seed stock
and commercial bull producers to breed cattle that will
calve unassisted, grow rapidly on forage and mature with
a moderate, manageable frame, and will hang a heavily
muscled, highly marbled carcass with a minimal amount of
back-fat. We realize that we are dealing with traits
that are antagonistic, however by careful genetic
selection we are able to accomplish these lofty goals.
It is our belief that this type of cattle will be
profitable regardless of which facet of the beef
industry you are involved in. In addition to the
aforementioned traits we are ruthless as we select for
structural soundness, fertility, and last but certainly
not least eye appeal. We feel that cattle who are eye
appealing are more easily marketed. Our motto has always
been cattle dont have to be ugly to perform! We have
infused our Purebred Simmental cows with select Angus
genetics to help reach our marbling and calving ease
goals. The resulting Sim-Angus composite has created a
lot of excitement amongst commercial cattlemen
nationwide.
